Knapp sieben Jahre lang haben die Stadtwerke München die U-Bahn-Station am Sendlinger Tor saniert und modernisiert, nun sind die Bauarbeiten größtenteils abgeschlossen. Es müssen nur noch einige Arbeiten an den Decken und Fassaden beendet werden, zudem kommen 2024 noch zwei weitere Aufgänge hinzu. Der U-Bahnbetrieb wird davon nicht mehr eingeschränkt.

Die Ladengeschäfte im Zwischengeschoss sind aber ab sofort geöffnet, hier gibt es nun wieder Lebensmittel, Backwaren, Drogerieartikel und Zeitschriften zu kaufen.

Oberbürgermeister Dieter Reiter: „Die Sanierung des U-Bahnhofs Sendlinger Tor ist so gut wie fertig und die gröbsten Einschränkungen sind Geschichte! Ich freue mich, dass wieder Läden ins Zwischengeschoss eingezogen sind und die knapp 200.000 Fahrgäste jetzt besser und barrierefrei zur U-Bahn oder auf den Sendlinger-Tor-Platz kommen.“
